DEUTSCH | ENGLISH

A nice Old Fashioned twist, with an unusual combination of ingredients from one of my most beloved, underrated bar books. That sounds promising, and it delivered on that promise. As it seems to have two names according to the book, it's probably an older drink, unfortunately there are no sources of origin in the Everleigh book.

Nuts on the nose, fresh notes of citrus zest, dry cocoa and a hint of dried fruit. Tasting it, you'll find walnut, hazelnut, dry cocoa, followed by dried fruit, mainly peach, subtle leather and oak with manuka honey. In the finish, toasted oak and nuts, with a hint of cocoa again. The atypical combination of cocoa beans and rather bright fruits works really well here and should be kept in mind for more cocktails.
