My Boy Blue
Recipe:
- 45ml tequila
- 15ml crème de cassis
- 7.5ml crème de cacao
- 22.5ml fresh lime juice
- 1 egg white
Combine the first 5 ingredients in a shaker without ice; shake well. Add ice and shake again to chill. Strain into a glass. Express an orange twist over the drink and discard. Garnish with a dehydrated orange wheel.
One of my favorite sours lately. It's very drinkable, has a great texture, and yet has a little grounding and complexity from the cocoa (Tempus Fugit Crème de Cacao is a real game changer here). The combination of the subtly earthy, vegetal agave, the deep fruitiness of a beautiful cassis liqueur, and then the dry cocoa beans in the finish is perfectly balanced between exciting and not too out there.
